We Are A Karma Kagyu Tibetan Buddhist Practice Center
We were founded in 1985 by The Venerable Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, and under his guidance.
Practitioners at Tampa Bay KTC are committed to providing an appropriate situation for learning and practicing the traditions of the Karma Kagyu Lineage.
Thank you for visiting Tampa Bay Karma Thegsum Choling.
On behalf of all the members and friends of the Tampa KTC, we hope you will join us for practice.
We meet Wednesday evenings at the Retreat Center at 13515 Lake Magdalene Blvd, Tampa Fl 33618. Join us for sitting meditation and Sadhana (prayer) practice. To stay up to date on our activities, please opt-in to our mailing list (via the sidebar link).
Learn More About Tibetan Buddhism
“The Tibetan Buddhist tradition is especially rich because the teachings of the Buddha were preserved in their entirety and elaborated upon over the centuries by meditators who to ok the teachings to heart and brought them to full fruition in their own mind streams.” To shop for books visit Namse Bangdzo Bookstore.
One Million Mani Mantras
For the benefit of His Holiness the Seventeenth Gyalwang Karmapa, his three heart sons, His Eminenence Tai Situ Rinpoche, His Eminence Goshir Gyaltsap Rinpoche, & his Eminence Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche & the Kagyu lamas including Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, we are accumulating and dedicating OM Mani Padme Hum mantras. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche’s request is that each practitioner count the mantras at any time during or outside of formal practice with mindfulness, generating bodhichitta by recollecting the suffering of all beings & wishing for them to obtain liberation. KTD has invited all the KTC & KKSG centers to join their aspiration to achieve one million mantras by July 21, 2012. You can report your totals to firstname.lastname@example.org
